The hotel, standing in its own secluded gardens, including fruit, herb and vegetable plots for the kitchen, nestles on the lush, sunny side of the river Erme valley, on the outskirts of Ermington village, and is blessed with stunning countryside views and walks.

Breakfast, tea and pre dinner drinks are enjoyed on the sunny terrace and a gentle stroll around the gardens reveals several secret corners for those precious moments of solitude.

But in spite of its rural position, the hotel is a focal point for an incredibly diverse array of places of interest, activities and natural beauty.

Plymouth turn right out of the hotel and within 15 minutes you will enter the city with its ferry port, theatre, art galleries, new shopping complex, national aquarium, Barbican and oceans of history.

Dartmoor the West Country’s most spectacular wilderness, ideal for experienced walkers and families alike, is reached via Ivybridge, some ten minutes drive.

A38 expressway, again about 10 minutes drive, providing rapid access through to Cornwall (the Eden project about an hour drive), the airports at Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol.

Beaches the South Hams boasts a rugged coastline doted with truly fabulous beaches; Mothercoombe, Bantham, Bigbury, Wonwell. Then there are the “watery” towns of Salcombe, Newton Ferrers, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, and market towns of Totnes, Modbury, Ivybridge.
